I checked it mileage against fuel added at 3 or 4 stops and came away with 26-28 each time. most of the time across elevations ranging from sea level to 9500 ft. driving 80-100mph in 4,5, or 6 gear. cars move fast between califormia and telluride. pickups in the 4 corners area were doing 80-90 with trailers. I found myself not needing 6th most of the time and noise level was irrelevant because we had the windows down and the top open for 2000 of the 2700 miles. there was a noticeable lack of power thru the mountains at 4500+ elevation. however where I live it's 800-1000' elevation and power is good.

when I depress the stalk to set the current speed into cruise mode, it immediately begins to accelerate as though I have holding the stalk. look at your controls and you'll see what I mean. that said, it was much less of a nuisance that I would have guessed for a 4 day drive. just irritating that it doesn't work. and why the flimsy stalks anyway? blinkers, cruise, and wipers controls feel as though they'll snap off at any moment. my e30 has far more substantial controls that this 993.
PM me if you don't have the repair manual. I can email you the applicable pages.

The common issue, as others have mentioned, is the CC not working at all because the clutch pedal is not completely in the released position. That doesn't seem to be what is happening here. It sounds to me like the there is a problem with the control switch itself. I would check that first. Otherwise there is a procedure in the 993 repair manual on testing the CC ecu. You'll need an ohm meter and to remove the passenger seat.

Nice car! I was looking at that car. Called Truspeed and it was sold. You beat me to it! Other than the cruise control. Is everything pretty solid so far? Happy with the Truspeed experience?

they were friendly. the sunroof cables snapped about 5 miles away from their shop. I returned and they rushed in new cables and installed them on the spot. car needs a few things that weren't disclosed prior to payment. I probably should have been a bit more diligent. but had I shipped it home like most do, I would have paid for it and found the same issues when it arrived. no manuals. one key. couple of rear bumper scratches and some bubbles on the cowl between the wiper mounts. also needs front rotors. this will all cost me more than I expected. I think sellers disclosure is the most important part in working with any seller.
car is tight, runs great, etc.

Cruise control works just like it says in manual:
Push stalk forward to engage at speed you are cruising; push and hold to increase speed, or blip it forward for about 1 mph increase for each blip.
To slow, pull back by either blipping or holding.
Touching the brake pedal disables cruise control.
Elegant design, my opinion.

Did the 550 conversion 300 hours ago, huge wow.
A few amphibs around here, but mostly straight floats.
