Default Sold my 993 (and PSA)

I put this in the Canada forum but thought I would put it here too. Sold it to a local TO guy. Will miss it but the cash ain't bad either!

And my PSA regarding one of the guys I ran across

Tom Wilson from Montreal. If he's still looking or pops up in the spring, beware

Long story but bottom line is I paid for his PPI under the promise that he would pay me back regardless of the outcome. The car passed fine but dear old Tom decided to walk

Now his cell no longer works and the phone is never answered at his work. Although he emailed me relentlessly while I ran around and took the car for the PPI etc, he has never answered one email re where my money is

Scumbag

He's the type of guy that makes selling a car a pain (especially when you put a little faith in humankind)

Maybe there's an obvious answer to this (which eludes me at this moment) but why did you agree to pay for the PPI?

PPI's are always done on the buyer's dime to eliminate any apparent conflict of interest. An inability to pay for a PPI should have been a red flag right then and there, IMHO.

I paid because the garage would not take an out of town credit card number over the phone (the garage is in Toronto and he is in Montreal). I had his drivers license info, he seemed liked a decent guy so I agreed to front the payment and he agreed to reimburse me

And as we now know, he disappeared without paying me

Perhaps he is waiting for his friend, a Nigerian prince, to wire him the inheritance that had been promised?

Thanks for the PSA and at least there wasn't more money on the line beyond the PPI. Perhaps having that fresh PPI done made it easier to deal with the next buyer in line.

Perhaps. But no money ended up in his pocket, it just ended up out of mine

And no, the final buyer had it inspected somewhere else

I didn't pay for that one.

Not too bad. I once paid a shop for a PPI on car they had just done a PPI on less than a week before! So shops can be scumbags too.
