Default New C4S needs lowering-help

Just picked up my new C2S before the snow arrived. It has only 28000 miles and has the factory MO30 suspension. I love the ride but would like the lower stance of the ROW. Can I just use a MO30 ROW spring set . I have been told that the front shock could be adjusted to correct height but I might need a spacer on the rear. I will look at a bilstein option at another time as the current shocks appear to be working well. Thanks for any suggestions. Doug

Need lower M030 or M033 springs (not sure the dif).
Probably need new shocks as well if the current ones are original.

Thanks for the feed back guys. It is evident that the springs will have to be changed from NA MO30 to ROW MO30 as a start. The current stiffer factory NA MO30 shocks with the low mileage appear to be working well and I wonder if they can be used with the new shorter ROW springs. Has anyone tried this. I have seen so many good factory mid mileage shocks being pulled from these cars that are in perfect working condition it seems a shame to throw away good 28k shocks. I know that by 50 k the stock shocks will probably need to be changed
but that will be a few years away and I have other projects to attend to. thanks again Doug

The seals are pliable in the shock valving aren't they? I would think that regardless of miles, the age of the original shocks (seals) would warrant replacement. I'm sure someone can confirm.

You may have a point but at the moment I am loving the suspension on this car just want it lower. It feels better than my last 993 with new shocks on it. It may have to do with the MO30 option on this car though.

Be aware that if you are not doing it yourself, the labor cost to change springs only will be the same as changing both springs and shocks. In either case you will also need an alignment. After doing the job twice myself, I would now aim to get the ride height and any suspension upgrade done at the same time.

Shocks and springs together as the originals are approaching 18 years old regardless of the miles.

Even if you feel the shocks are adequate, keep in mind with the new stiffer springs they are very likely going to wear out even faster.

If you do a search I'm don't think you'll find anyone happy currently with ROW springs and factory shocks.

If I had a 4 wheel drive Porsche, I'd probably try and lift it a couple inches higher. Especially since you only have a little time until the snow starts.

Ha ha!

Doug, I take it you are thinking about using a spacer so as to take up the slack in order to solve the "floating spring" issue when using lowering springs with Bilstein B6 shocks.

That won't work. Well you could do that but you won't be lowering your car.

You need a shock with a shorter piston (20 mm shorter) like the Bilstein B8 which according to Bilstein and Gert Carnewal are identical in all other respects.

Put a vote in for me for the PSS10's...If you've already got the M030 suspension you're a step ahead since you can re-use the sway bars and have a really nice combo along the with the Bilstein's.
