When I first installed the engine I put the stock plastic Intake on it, it was soon apparent that it was just not up to the task. All along I had planned to install ITB's just wasn't planned so soon after the rebuild.

Engine in place, the Platic Manifold just couldn't keep up with the needs of the big 4.0l cylinders and Big Cams.

Getting ready for Install of the ITB's

Out of the box.... So nice.

Detail Shots. This kit made specifically for 993's by Jenvey. It comes with everything you see here, plus a throttle linkage. I bought this through Hayward Performance in BC, He made some mods to them for me prior to sending them

Rothsport Vacuum accumulator and some vacuum line. The accumulator is used for the brake booster, I also drilled and tapped an additional port so I could get vacuum for the GT3 exhaust valves.

Adjustable fuel pressure regulator, gauge (this has now been replaced with a sender that is connected to my ECU) Light weight fuel line and fittings.

Initially we ran with Bosch 'Red Devil" injectors these ended up not suitable for the task as we were getting fueling issues at the top of the rev range on the dyno. They were replaced with Injector Dynamics ID1000 Injectors...

Test Fitting of the ITB's, no fuel lines or throttle linkages in place.

The car has run a ViPec V88 for about 6 years, thankfully that was pre planned ready for a major engine rebuild like this one. The V88 has been awesome, when we first setup the engine with the plastic manifold it was running MAP and TP, it was a challenge to get the car to run perfectly because of the cams, the overlap played havoc with the MAP sensor. We soon switched over to Alpha-N and never looked back.

Once the ITB's were in place the Alpha-N was the only way to go.

Congrats with the Jeveny's. They look so pretty.
Please keep them pictures/updates coming.
I'm not able to do what your doing, but at least I can dream while reading your updates.

What HP numbers are you getting - I am assuming some dyno time has been spent.

340 to the wheels, about 390 crank. That's on 91 Shell. At the track it can easily keep track modded 997.1 GT3's with good drivers in the rear view mirror...

I have done about 5000 miles in the car over the past 2 ish years now.

The heads are the bottle neck right now, its running RS Valves etc. If I went to some Elite heads the estimates are somewhere around 430-450 at the crank. I just don't have the $15k at the moment to spare...

The planning and attention to detail that went into this build makes me want to cry! What a beautiful beast you have created!

Of course this is my fave picture from the entire thread - please stop by ASAP to pick up some fresh Tunerworks t-shirts (no charge)
