I'm curious.

Since I'm assuming you put the car for sale on eBay to sell it, I'm wondering if you got "clobbered by inquires", why you'd "take it down?"

I'd think that inquiries are a good sign if your point is to sell the car, and taking it down would be counter-productive if your intent is to actually sell the car, no?

I listed it on Craigslist locally. I honestly did not know how to value it. With the amount of inquiries and the "I'll buy it sight unseen" calls I have to question my asking price.

The listing represents me being emotionally ready to sell it more than anything. The car does need a throttle boot to be 100%. Sadly the part has been on back order since November. Protomotive is going to make one for me out of aluminum. Once it's a 100% I guess maybe e-bay would be the best route. I did find a local buyer who loves the car and would be willing to pay a bit more for it. That would be the smoothest transaction as long as I don't leave too much money on the table.

Seems a local buyer who'd pay more than you asked for, would be preferable to selling it via eBay, but what do I know. This whole thread has been pretty confusing for me to understand so far.

Anyway, best of luck on selling your car, if you decide to

I remember when this was Baja272's car - he went all out on it. The first picture in his FS thread below confirmed that I HAD to have an arena red tt with black interior.

haha, I didn't want to ID you as the owner unless/until you showed up in the thread, Tom (MarinS4).

FWIW all, Tom is a stand up guy. When I first purchased my 993 and moved to the Bay Area, he helped me find a shop to do some work on my audio setup. He also showed me this beauty. GLWS, Tom!

Thanks for the kind words Adam. It was a pleasure to meet you as well. You got yourself a beauty there as well. I hope you get to drive it again soon.

I am sure I'll miss the car but my current situation dictates it's time to go. I feel grateful to have owned such a machine. Not many will have had that luxury in their lifetime.

I never did sell it. It's back on eBay with no reserve at 75k. I hope it goes to a good home.

I am not in the market, but I love the car! Then again, I like modified cars...especially when executed as well as this one appears. Wishing you luck with your sale!

Tom is a stand up guy and knows 993 turbo engines better than anyone I have met. My car is not stock and this one is faster on the track.

Seems like a great way to have the 993TT experience while being a little less worried about actually driving the thing.

Spydey, are you saying the GP can purchase a GT4 for $80k today?

Well that comment was a while back when the GT4s where just announced. Now we know how small the GT4 queue is and how much mark up people are paying to beat the wait...

You'll see my more recent post above. For a high performance 993 that can be driven (rather than just looked at and polished) this 4S/TT seems like a decently priced option now.
