I'm partial to Panorama.

GT Porsche is also a very good one, but their editor Stuart Gallagher just left to work at Evo. So I don't know if they will remain a viable magazine. Just like another Porsche title that's been wilting away lately

And speaking of Evo, for a general interest car magazine, it is unsurpassed.

I do have to say, Car & Driver and Road & Track's recent issues have been a lot better. But I find it difficult to concentrate on a pick up truck comparo after I've just read about the new Koenigsegg...

AutoWeek, R&T, C&D, Automobile, Panorama, Excellence, Roundel, Quattro Quarterly.

Half of them are redundant but those "A year for $5" offers are hard to resist. 😬

In order of enjoyment I derive from reading:
  • Motorsport - Extensive competition coverage and they actually continue to write in complete sentences.
  • Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car - A little too much emphasis on English marques but they cover the cars of my youth and have Satch Carlson.
  • Panorama - Much more balanced and extensive coverage than in the past.
  • Excellence - Fading, but occasionally enjoyable.
  • Road & Track - Giving it up after 49 years of subscribing. Has become the People of car magazines...Too much childish bragging by the editor and writers about wrecking test cars and plus Peter Egan is gone.

I punted on excellence after many, many years.

Panorama has been a really nice surprise since the update. Always a few very good articles and great photography.

Cheers

Any tips on a less expensive subscription to EVO?

Was quoted about 7 pounds Sterling ($14CAD) an issue off the website.

Ideas?

Cheers

My fav mag is Sports & Exotic Car. Focus is on collector cars, car history, and tech.

For me (on the iPad) it's:

Panorama
Total 911
Roundel
AutoWeek

I'll have to check out Evo again.

I doubt I'm going to renew Total 911. I'm not finding much insight. Pretty pictures, but not much insight. On the other hand, without it I wouldn't have seen the latest cool car by Magnus Walker and Sharkwerks. We'll see.

R&T has definitely improved - nice work Sam Smith. But it's still short on real criticism for anything made by its advertisers and Peter Egan leaving pushed me to stop subscribing after decades of reading it every month. If you want contrast, it's worth reading an issue from the 50's, 60's or early 70's. I bought a stack for cheap years ago and still read through them periodically (unintended pun). If they thought a car sucked the writing made that clear.

Automobile was a good airport purchase, particularly when Jean Lindamood was around, but now that I can keep my iPad on the entire time that I'm on airplane, I'm not buying magazines at the airport any longer.

Any must-follows on Twitter?

My favorite is Keith Martin's Sports Car Magazine, which details auction results for cars around the world including various marque specific columns for Porsche, Ferrari, and Legal issues in the auto world.

Always Panorama and Excellence. Known to let a Motor Trend, Grassroots Motorsports or Car & Driver sit around as well.
