There is such a difference between a I-phone pic and a professional.

Sometimes the "difference" is the person taking the pictures. I have seen some amazing pictures taken with the new iPhone 6, including a few in Panorama magazine.

There is a lot more to a good photograph than the camera been used.... I took this photo with my old iPhone 5. I don't think it would've been any better with my Canon:

This was with my 6. It usually depends on composition. Some people have the greatest eq. and still can't take a shot to save their lives.Name: image.jpg

If you can take pics in RAW, you can basically "retake" the image and adjust lighting, colors etc....
Good lens also helps. These two pics were taken on the same day in the same area.

You are right. I stand corrected.
The camera phones are very good.
I admit, I really do not know how to take good pictures.
Also, the vision is slowly going.

Nothing wrong with your shot, look what just a tad of editing did. :-)Name: image.jpg

Juha, that's pretty good shadow detail for a camera phone.

Yeah, the iPhone has a good cam!

Here's another nice iPhone photo (sorry for the non-993 content):

I'm as average as they get as a photographer, and that's on a good day, but sometimes even the average among us get lucky. I took this shot with my iPhone 6 the other day while on a drive just outside of the Smoky Mountains National Park. I was concentrating on the angle I was getting on the car and didn't even notice the beautiful sky and the fact that the overcast created a backlit image of the car that softened its Guards Red color.

In this photo you can see the inherent problem with cam phones; they can't handle poor lighting conditions. See how much noise is in the visible part of the hood/fender. With proper optics and total control over your aperture and shutter you would not have this kind of problems. Nevertheless, it's a nice photo!

Nowadays I seldom bring the 50D with me on drives - the iPhone 6 takes fantastic shots and then its all in the composition, lighting etc. I prefer overcast to scattered clouds conditions depending on locations. Then take it into PS and tweak!
