Default "Wife of a 993 Owner" - Petrolicious Article

I got my wife a guest writing spot at Petrolicious where I do the bulk of my automotive journalism. Some 993 content that I thought might of of interest, as well as her living with a car nut. Enjoy!

I loved the article and now know that the feelings I have for my 993 are perfectly normal. Thanks.

Pass my thanks to your wife. Great article. Had my wife nodding vigorously.

I realized peace in the household was needed, so the TVs in all the rooms except my getaway office are permanently tuned to HGTV. It balances things nicely, and is my sleep aid.

I had Karen buy a '92 C4 in '98, the day she moved in with me two months prior to marriage. I had her on the track the next spring for more or less two years of track duty. Then she got bored. She'll drive any of the 911s, and probably would have taken the Radical out if her tiny self could even remotely reach the pedals.

But yes, now, when I get into a car discussion she tunes out.

Thanks for sharing
I laughed out loud when I read the part about him being nervous about his parking spot on the first date.

Thanks for posting. My favorite: "I thought he was nervous because he was excited to meet me, but now I see that he was probably just worried about his car’s safety." The penchant for prius and volvos must be painful.

The wife was a Prius owner and currently leases a Volvo. Clearly there are some mental and anger issues.

That being said, the husband is acting a little like a Ferrari owner. I, like race911, I made sure mine was infected by using the 993 as a Daily Driver for 2 years. Not worrying about her driving it. I do let some valet guys park it. But only if there is a parking lot. 20 buck tip on top of the valet charge.

Mine does not do all the Porsche events so I pick the ones that she would enjoy.

My goodness ... Thanks for posting this. I am sure my own wife feels the exact same way, and we also have a Volvo and a Prius!

GREAT stuff, Ben!

My wife abstains whenever I attend a Porsche event, knowing full what will transpire.

Tell her to keep on writing as there is a ready & willing audience for her musings.
