Only TWO days to go! Gotta get supplies tomorrow - forecast is still marginal but you never know, and there is plenty of room in the shop undercover for the BBQ and corresponding BS that follows ... :-)
Cheers,
Mike

No pic's from me but Harlan took a lot so I expect there will be some shortly. "Give Mike a break day" will have to wait for a future event since Mike spent an awful lot of time under cars....mine included. I'm not sure of the count but suffice it to say that there were a lot of cars. Composition is slowly changing with a quite a few water pumpers showing up. Definitely a large majority of 993's but a couple of 964's and 997's ( including two GT3's) thrown into the mix. As per usual, a great annual Porsche event....thanks Mike!

Thanks Mike for hosting another year, and thanks to Dennis and RobL for BBQing!
Was a great turnout, here are a few pics i took, Harlan took a bunch and here's a little example of how hard Harlan works to get us the best pictures from these events!

Nice ! Great event, those shots were early, before the entire alley and the street above had cars lined up. Paul will like that his Austin made the picts - that is a really interesting car, with most of the body being reworked in aluminum (took almost three years).
We raised almost $700 for charity, and with my employer (TELUS) matching that, that will be $1400 total - zowie!! We are looking at contributing to the Nepal Earthquake Fund, the poor people there have really suffered. While I had intended to take most of the day off, but my lack of ability to say no and having those serviced contribute to the charity spurred me on.
I would really like to thank Sunset Porsche, Bob shipped up some raffle prizes (mugs, oil bottles) that help on raising money. The grand prize ( a 5-hour shop credit, enough for 1/2 of a clutch job) went to Allan out of Seattle. Actually, a few more prizes went to him too - which was weird, but we really did mix up the tickets!
I would also like to thank the "crew" of volunteers who helped setup, cook, cleanup and generally keep the event going - amazing crew.. I also received a very very nice present - "Porsche 911 40 Years" by Randy Leffingwell - signed by all the guys at the BBQ - very touching and I really appreciate it!
(great book too - spent a bunch of time reading it - really interesting to see the design evolve )
Cheers,
Mike

MikeJ's 10th Annual BBQ and Workshop Session
Here is a link to my photographs from the 10th Annual event where MikeJ for the last ten years has been the gracious host, having us to his shop where we've done everything from pressure washing the undersides, changing oil, to pinning our tie rod ends. Thanks Mike for 10 years of gathering us together!!

Mike J's 10th Annual pcarworkshop BBQ! - August 15th, 2015
Thanks for hosting another great event Mike, I'll be on the guilty list of breaking the "Give Mike a break theme" as my car spent some time on the lift too.
10 years and and looking forward to many more!

It was my first Mike J BBQ and I really enjoyed myself. A great group of guys was there, and Mike is so generous in sharing his knowledge about these cars. Looking forward to having my car on his hoist soon. Thanks for the great day Mike.
