Default Well, it's kind of an evolution of the 993 I owned for 12 yrs - newer 911 on the way

I posted in the 997 Turbo forum 2 weeks ago but since this is my core group from day 1, thought I'd update you folks on what I got. I appreciate all the leads on cars you PM'd me over these months as well. Sold the 96 C4S a few months ago and finally found it's replacement after daily searching on pretty much every car site out there. It looks kind of similar looking to the 993, will be better for my sore knees (no clutching) and is still silver/black. It has 8080 miles and is a 2012.

Getting a 7yr 70k mi Fidelity warranty as soon as it gets here. The Suntek Clearbra went on the car on Friday before it was closed car carrier trucked from Arizona to my house. I should have it in 8-10 days. I didn't have the time to get it myself and drive it back the 2400 miles due to crushing work demands so it was my only option.

It cost (since people always ask) $53k plus the money I got for my 993. To me, it was kind of a "deal" considering the original MSRP of this car. It's $10k more than I wanted to spend but it was exactly the options I've been looking for (for 4 months) so I jumped on it. This would be my 3rd 911 (had an 88 911 Carrera for 5 years and the 993 for 12 years). I feel very fortunate... very. And grateful.

Thanks...

Darn. I should have had them mount something on this car for the license plate to go on. I totally forgot. Arghhhh. I will have to figure something out when I get it. I'll have to start researching what other Marylander's do who own this car. Maybe there's something slightly more stealthy than the stock license plate holder.

EDIT! I just found this. Guess I'll be getting this

Front license plates are also required in Washington. FWIW I got one from Rennline and recommend it.

Nice color combo, the 2nd gen 997's are really sharp. Your going to have fun because this thing is an absolute land rocket, pulls high 10's stock in the quarter mile.

Very nice. Congratulations.

Guess you'll have to change your login name from C4S to TTS.

I'm so glad we don't require front plates.

Just tried to change my username and realized I can't.

I can't say that getting rid of my 993 is an "extreme circumstance" so I'll have to keep it. Nice reminder of my roots. I really appreciate the positive comments. I wasn't sure what you guys were going to say about my new "automatic Porsche".

It's still a "Carrera 4 S" with a coupla turbos and 16-17 years younger. Questioning a paddle shifted (proven) PDK??????? You can laugh as you shift faster than imagined.
Congrats, beautiful.
