Default FS: 1997 C2 48K miles- I'm going to regret this!

Hey Rennlisters, I'm selling the car that I never thought I'd sell....It's a pretty amazing example, 48K miles, clean carfax, I've dialed this car in without regard to expense. All work has been completed by Cantrell Motorsports, Chris's German auto and routine maintenance by Akers Porsche...all in Seattle. I'll need to go through my receipts to list everything that's been done but here's a brief list: PSS10s, Walrod bushings, Evo uprights, big reds, Tarett drop links and sway bars, BBS LM wheels, corner balanced, reflashed ECU (Cantrell) Fister exhaust, Strut brace, etc. Color is Grand Prix White with Cashmere interior and Turbo front spoiler (have original as well) hifi sounds package, sunroof. I've tastefully swapped out a few interior pieces with black leather (grab handles, etc.) + black leather Cayman seats. I have the original cashmere leather seats and they'll go with the car. Doesn't leak a drop and runs, performs absolutely flawlessly. Honestly...the only thing that I know it needs is the windshield creaks and needs that grey, foam insert inside the rubber windshield surround (I have it). I know there's a bunch of stuff that I'm forgetting but I have a huge file of receipts and you're welcome to talk with any or all of the shops that know my cars. asking $69K Feel free to call me to discuss, Thanks Mark-Seattle 206-890-4615

Mark,
You might want to edit the title of the thread to read: "48kmi". My first thought was $48k. Wishful thinking, eh... And maybe put the text at the top, since info was hard to find under that first large pic on my laptop screen (such is life with high res phone cameras and their huge resolution).
GLWS!

Nice car; should sell easily when priced correctly. If it were me I'd install original seats, wheels and steering wheel. Adjust the price accordingly and make up the difference by selling the bits. If asking "all the money" for the car I would address the windshield creak issue. Pelican and EBay will give you maximum exposure. GLWS.

No doubt about it...it's a healthy ask but one of the nicest, low mile C2s around.

Selfishly I hope you get every dollar. I'll never sell my car but love telling people it's doubled in value in the fifteen years I've owned it.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I know $69k is a lot of cheddar for a standard C2 but....if you're an enthusiast and are attracted to the improvements I've made to this car, I don't think you couldn't buy a 48k mile unmolested 993 and do all of the work I've done for less. The suspension and brakes alone were over $12k....clearly this car isn't for everyone and if you want a stock time capsule it's probably not for you. I have the original parts and they will go with the car....best, Mark

I'm going to regret this!
Posting in the 993 forum? Probably so!

well thats a very healthy ask for a pretty standard C2.
...As upgraded, and mileage considered, I wouldn't exactly characterize the listers vehicle as a "pretty standard C2".
...But yes, the asking price is all that and a bag of chips!!!
However I agree with removing upgrades, including the turbo bumper if the stock unit was kept; leaving the PSS10's on the car!

PSS10s, Walrod bushings, Evo uprights, big reds, Tarett drop links and sway bars
The suspension and brakes alone were over $12k
$12k seems somewhat debatable, along with thinking new RETAIL part pricing bumps the price of the car, on a 1 to 1 dollar basis.

...but GLWS on a beautiful and tastefully modified C2!

[QUOTE=Quadcammer;12529035]well thats a very healthy ask for a pretty standard C2.

FWIW, I think you would be better off putting it back to stock and sell off the
wheels, seats (except the PSS10's) front valance, ect.

The biggest asset the car has is the mileage. I think you would broaden your customer base with a stock 48K mile car.

Good advice. I think the car would sell closer to that price much closer to stock as well. Especially wheels, sw, and seats. I think the turbo front bumper is good to stay but I'm biased.

I really like what you did with the car- updating the ergos to modern stuff. I'm working on a 964 project car and am going to do the same type of mods.
