Default New/ old car. Porsche related

As much as we love the 993's we all realize that there was a beginning to all this madness. It has been repeated over and over again so I'll leave the stories to the books and magazines. I have been looking for the earliest possible Porsche that was somewhat rational for me. This has been ongoing for a few years now. I've chased way too many leads and passed on some garbage along the way. Unfortunately I've also missed out on quite a few really nice cars too. A good friend of mine from California was speaking with a client friend of his regarding a few cars that he may be interested in selling. This back and forth went on for about two months through the holiday season. I decided that I had to see the car in person while I had the time. Last week I flew to the North East to finally see the car. It was well worth the trip. Here are a few pictures of the car, a 1955 Pre A Continental that was originally imported by Max Hoffman's in New York. I have visions of it in the showroom on Fifth Avenue slowly rotating on the famous turntable! Some of you may know what I'm talking about. More details to follow...

Its amazing how when I was younger I could care less about the 356's, liked working on them even less. Now I am fascinated by them. Gorgeous car I must say.

Thanks guys. The car is Turkish Red with Beige vinyl as per the 1988 letter from Porschewerks. It's supposed to be here this weekend as per Reliable Carriers.

that is beautiful.

I'm not quite at the stage that I appreciate driving cars that old, but they are gorgeous to look at.

enjoy it.

Fantastic! And it has the telefunken radio! I too love the beginning and the end. My keeper cars are 356s and 993. Where it started and where it ended
