Antifreeze in a 993?!?!?
I don't believe this article was written by a Porsche guy.
5 tips to keep you car running. Step one ... Check antifreeze level. Oh ... And drive calmly.

Ummm.... that's not nearly the worst advice in that article.
This is a guaranteed way to disaster:
quote: Engine oil - To check your oil, wait for your car to be cool, open hood, remove dipstick by pulling it out from the reservoir, wipe it clean, re-insert it, pull it back out, and check the level against the high and low marks on the dipstick. Top off the oil if it is low. end quote

You guys are just 993 newbies! I attribute my engine's longevity to my diligent checking of the antifreeze levels in my car. I also always check and top off my oil level when cold. The resulting constant spray of oil in the engine compartment helps keep things back there from rusting. Ha, bet you didn't know that! I do admit that I have yet to find the dipstick for the tranny fluid, but I've only had the car for 19 years and 10 months, so I'm still learning. I do disagree with the concept of driving calmly. Really. I didn't spend 82 large in 1996 to drive calmly. That's for Lexus owners. You ride calmly in a Lexus, but you DRIVE a Porsche.

I found the article to be filled with really useful information. For example, I never realized this before:
"Driving without windshield wiper fluid may not affect your car's overall performance, but having it can help you clean your windshield while driving."

Surprising to see that here on our site. The moderators need to take that down, it makes Rennlist look stupid and a newbie might incorrectly follow the instructions (although the trans fluid check might be tricky).

WTF?!? This is shameful. I agree, should be taken down. Info is so bad, I can't even say that Captain Obvious wrote it. Next, we'll have noobs starting, "which antifreeze is best" threads.

That's funny !!
I think some tech guy just duplicated this post again and again for every car type without thinking about cars.
*this post in no way is to offend tech guys that are car enthusiast.

I like the part that recommends not to accelerate quickly.

These articles are all pretty sad. I want to know how long does it take for Motor oil to turn black before you should change it?
