The Random Question Thread...
Have this thread over at the 964 section and I always enjoyed it as a place to ask silly questions but also to learn from other people's questions. Figured it was worth getting started over here. As a new 993 owner, I'm sure I'll have a ton of random and silly little questions.
I'll start:
Been noticing that when I shift from 1st to 2nd, the shifter goes straight down as it should until I get to the very bottom of the gate and then the shifter moves left to sit in second gear.
The left movement seems strange to me. Any thoughts?

Transmission shifting in mounts as torque is reapplied from the engine at clutch release? Just a guess.

I saw your question this morning and took a drive this afternoon because I never noticed it.
I don't notice it in my car.

My next random question....are the medal clips in this pic (red arrow) available separately from the console switch trim? My clips are missing/broken so the trim is loose and a new trim piece is over $400!!
Any suggestions?

Possibly time for an engine mount change! Go for the C4 version, they are a little bit stiffer but best of all around half the price! The change inself is an easy DIY.

Here's one:
Sometimes, not everytime, when I unlock the car ('97) and forget to push the button on the key fob to dissengage DriveBlock, the car starts, even with the DriveBlock dash indicator lit. Is that a sign of trouble? Or should I consider myself fortunate?
