Porsche Classic offering new design 993 shock absorbers
Theres no date on the Porsche article so I'm not sure when this was posted, but I havent seen it discussed on RL.

Seems like an interesting product, especially for the people who want comfort instead of coilovers and RS ride height.

Did you notice this "upside-down technology" business? Is anyone aware of any aftermarket shocks for our cars that have this design?
Also, instead of the fixed height and drop link of the Monroes, these have the usual Bilstein B6/B8 adjustable drop link with a single locking collar. I would have liked to see an additional locking collar.
the front axle setting has been changed to upside-down technology together with single-tube gas pressure dampers. The piston rod is now supported at the bottom of the damper. The cartridge projects from the top of the working cylinder which also contains the gas pressure cushion.

Why would you buy something new from Porsche for the 993 that the original part was mediocre at best?
"Porsche Classic" = paying 3X for something for that another company specializes in and probably does better.

Here's the "upside down" front damper for the torsion bar cars with Bilstein struts.
Note the bump rubber faces down.

...And 10's are rebuildable too. Not enough info on the new component, but I'd wager its a throw away like the OEM Monroe units. Kinda even looks like a Monroe
In what way, Mike?
Thanks to modern technology, todays dampers are better than the originals in mostly ALL functional aspects.
Thanks to modern technology, the new dampers are even better than the originals in some aspects."
Better than the originals? That's a pretty big claim.
