Not fair. The tent is not pitched.

The bag in the frunk is actually my gear bag. The frame for the tent is laid out in the back seat

Impressive! I would be concerned about boogering the interior with dents, grease, etc. Have you ruled out a roof rack?

I keep my bikes meticulously clean, the drivetrain is wrapped so no grease will get on anything, and the bike (sans wheels) weighs a hair under 16 lbs. I think any passenger I take in the car will be causing more wear and tear on the interior than what I have packed.

That's my kind of functional carbon fiber interior enhancement.

Mine fits in the rear quite easily with the front seats moved up a bit. I'll have to try your configuration. I wrap plastic bags around the deraileurs and front crank. Use the bike to ride to/from Jerry's in Natick. Better than taking the T.

There was no chance of this fitting in the back seat unless I remove the aerobars and started messing with the alignment settings of the cockpit. This way was easy, remove both wheels and seat/ seatpost and voila... Plus the tent is in the back seat.

Nicely done though!

Agree. "Using the right tool for the job" comes to mind.
With the exception of a roof rack for track wheels I never understood those who are loading a sports car like a pickup truck.

I'd be more worried about leaving my car at the trailhead or parking lot while i was out riding. Those are popular spots for breaki-ins.

So, when you get to the hotel, you park the 993 in the tent. Smart. I like it!
