Default Need Help -Wont Start

Guys, new 993 owner here. 1996 base Carrera. 50K miles. Ran great, let it sit for two weeks and got nothing turning the key. Put it on a trickle charger overnight. First attempt it fired up and immediately stalled. Second attempt same thing. Waited a day and tried again, Now it turns over rapidly but not firing. I understand they have a fuel relay issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You mean the DME relay! Loads of info if You do a search here on the forum! Placed in the fusebox and easy to replace!

Have You tried to lock and unlock the car with the remote control? Could be that easy!

Relay is located in the fuse box under the passenger side carpet in the front trunk aka frunk. Take off the fuse box lid and find the circled relay. Pull it out, give it a couple of sharp taps, reinsert and try starting the car again.

Sometimes that works as an emergency fix, if it starts it might get you home or to a better location. If you are already home, stay there, and buy 2 new relays: one to use, one as a spare.

Battery voltage ???

Have you tried rocking the car in gear to see if the starter is stuck? Mine did this and after a push start all was good and it never happened again.

If you want to eliminate the DME relay as the reason why the car
won't start and run, you could do the "ByPass Test" which I describe
in this post:

I keep one of these jumpers in my car glovebox for just such an
emergency.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the wiper relay the same? A simple swap.

The wiper relay (R42) is different from the DME relay (R53) and has a
different part number.

Attached is a page from the wiring diagram showing the relays and
their internal wiring.

Guys, tried whacking the relay on the floor and then replacing. Made no difference. Starter is not stuck as one member asked. Turning over quite rapidly. I guess I'll wait for the new relay to arrive. Thanks to all, To be continued....

Ok guys, got the new relays and popped one in. She fired up instantly. Took her out and blew the dust off. Thanks again!

Outstanding. Thanks for posting the resolution.

That reminds me, I really need to create one of those bypass jumpers.
