I have a 993... I can fit a hood/bonnet from a....?
I have googled long and hard but can't work out it hoods are backwardly compatible? Apologies if the answer is obvious...
I have a 993 and there are various second hand hoods available on eBay. Am I safe buying any short nose hood on the basis I intend to use pins / Aerocatches?
Can I use a 964 hood?
Thanks

easy to tell does the part number start with 993 or 964 or an earlier number?
Part begins with a 993.511.010.01 looks like a 993 part number. Not sure how they might differ from a 964. I would call a Dismantler shop and ask. The differences may be subtle such as the water sprayers or the hinge attachment points. For example DCauto.com

You should feasibly be able to fit any short hood back to '74 particularly since you plan on using pins to secure it.

They are different parts. The 993 hood is about 5mm shorter at the front edge. For a fiberglass track hood that you can sand down, it won't matter, but for a steel/street application you unfortunately have to get a 993 hood.
