Default OT - where to buy w124 500E?

As several of us share common cross-brand interests, I have seen that several folks on here also have 500Es in their garage so it is on that basis that I am asking for your wisdom -

Now that I am firmly in my fourth decade of life, I would like to fulfill one of my dreams that I had while in HS - to drive a 500E.

Ideally I would find One with less than 100K miles. A 500E would make an excellent pairing to the 993 in my small garage - a modest sampling of iconic 90s German Hardware.

Where is the best place to find one? I know of bringatrailer and 500eboard.com

Thank you for any leads.

Www.Germancarsforsaleblog.com seems pretty partial to the "hammer". I've seen a few linked there in the past year.

Thanks! I just read through the blog - they feel a lot like bringatrailer did in the beginning, before bringatrailer got so focused on auctions and revenue generation.

Just bought a 1996 C4 Coupe. Arena Red. Already has a 1992 500E. The first Porsche 4 -Door sedan. A great complement for one another.

I'd reach out to Hatch and Sons. My brother has purchased two cars from them. They seem to specialize in lower mileage, back East, cars that hibernate during the winter.

https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds...edes-benz/500e

only 5 showed up on Autotrader

Benz 500E prices seem to be doing a lot better than the Audi ur-S4 and S6's of that era (had a S6).

Yep... I completely agree. But as auction sites go, BaT is pretty good, with the relatively interesting cars that are selected, and the entertaining commentary...

I've owned a number of these cars. They were very nice driving cars for highway commuting, seats among the best I've ever sat in. Don't expect many thrills, just a well built sedan with a smooth & linear power band and very aggressive look.

500E Board is these best place you can go to buy or research these cars. Pic of my last one, a fellow Rennlister ended up buying it.

A friend of mine might be selling one for a good deal relatively soon. Paint is faded on the roof and trunk...It belonged to a much closer friend that the current friend who owns it...So I know the past 4 years of history on it.
