Rattle heat shield

Rattle heat shield
I am kind of tired of the rattle heatshield. I am wondering if anyone has used those self adhesive heat reflective shields to stick on the back of the bumper cover to protect the bumper from the exhaust heat and get rid of those troublesome heat shields forever?

I don't get it, it doesn't have to rattle. Is it affixed properly? Is it bent?
I pulled mine off and reinstalled with motor/cat in place, in order to drop the motor without removing bumper-no rattles.

Seems the air insulation between the two heat shields, is part of the grand scheme of things related to bumper paint protection, in the minds of porsche engineering.

My car has the stamped aluminium panel that ties to the bottom edge of the bumper cover and has the two side inner shields pop-riveted to the inside behind the R/L turn signal /stop light housings.
Are these the shields the poster is speaking of or are there others my car simply does not have?
When replacing the covers once I added a little high heat aluminium (non-cloth) duct tape to the back of the bumper but it didn't seem the stay on very well when I had the bumper cover off for a later replacement.

there are also 2 heat shields that attach to the muffler where the pipe comes closest to the bumper.
I thought I read or heard somewhere that eliminating these puts the bumper/paint at risk for heat damage. Bumper is just plastic after all. I had to replace all of mine, they just fell apart after a while.

Did you get that duct tape at Home Depot?

(no affiliation. with FDM. I do know Ed....so that's "affiliation", I guess...)
But in agreement with those above....just tighten the nuts/bolts on the heat shield to remove the rattles. Unless you have something else rattling (I seem to recall an occasional mention of muffler baffles coming loose and rattling) but first, eliminate the head shields as a possible cause.

Do your fisters have the ceramic coating finish; and if so, possibly this could be evidence of the heat shielding properties of ceramic coatings?
I ask because I could never get anything hardfast on the heat shielding properties from FDM. A thermal heat gun on a coated and non-coated muffler would certainly answer the question.
