Windshield Gasket too small

The installer I used is highly recommended by both the local dealer and the indy that services my cars.
Looks like I am using Andy's workaround until the next rock bounces off the windshield, and I fly boomboomthump out for a weekend on the water and glass fitting.

I'm good with that! By that time I will have at least done it twice. I put in new front/rear glass last year and then this year decided to strip the car to bare metal for repaint. Going to reinstall soon.

Not sure what aftermarket windshields installer is talking about.
Do you have part numbers for the glass and gasket you ordered?
I used 993-541-111-06 Windshield and 993-541-435-01 Windshield Gasket, which worked perfectly on my 993.

Just wanted to confirm that OEM 993 windshield comes with channel for the gasket attached to the glass from the factory.

Ah, that's right. I forgot I replaced both gaskets and indeed used "993-541-925-00 Windshield Gasket" as well.

That's the part number I have as well.
Played around with some rope caulk, and a 1/4" fits nicely in the gap, and allows the gasket to sit flush on the pillar. Will backfill it a little with roofing caulk. It won't be long before a rock ruins this windshield. If you drive the highways in Mass the stone and gravel symphony off your car is a constant.
