I guess riding 1000cc+ motorcycles and transitioning from an almost 700whp Viper has skewed my perspective, but my C2 feels delightfully well balanced and as comforting on back roads as a warm fuzzy blanket.

Needless to say, I love it.

You've been hanging out with polar bears in the arctic, so grizzlies seem like small puppy dogs to you now .

Grizzlies are awesome too, just for different reasons.

Sounds like Looking Glass Hill Road. One of my favourites in your state; or anywhere.

This is Donster's car now.

Beautiful scenery there Rinty.

On a different note, I've been lucky to have had rides in a '73 RS Touring and a 996 GT3RS.

The RS felt so alive even from the passenger seat, with the car pivoting below us, under power from the exit and again on turning into corners. There was a faint smell of petrol and hot oil permeating the cabin. It wasn’t fantastically fast although we were going flat out but the grin on Alan's face said it all.

The GT3 RS was just brutal. Grip levels were such that my helmet nearly hit the side window under hard cornering. My head and arms were thrown forward under hard braking. It was like hitting a brick wall. Ed's face was a mask of sheer determination wringing the car out on its and his performance edge, catching the slide under hard power as we shot out of Club Corner. No smiles during this ride but plenty afterwards.

Lovely picture of a great road. Glacier National Park is such a wonderful place.

I'm further south, closer to Yellowstone, so that's not the road I was talking about but now I have a hankering to drive north!

Sounds like a wonderful experience. Riding in a 73 RS is a bucket-list goal for sure. I've had the chance to ride in a few cars that were built toward 73 RS specs but never the real thing.

I know what you mean regarding the GT3 RS. Some cars are so brutal that it feels like riding on an ultra-violent roller coaster. I remember riding in a heavily modified 911 set up for AutoX and my helmet spent more time bouncing off the roll cage than anything else. I'm sure the GT3 RS was on a whole different level.

You're lucky being close to so many great roads: the Beartooth, Chief Joseph, Hwy 78.

Driving those will be a proper reward for all your work, and project stress.

Yes, those are great roads! You know this area well. Any other good roads you know about? I'm always on the lookout.

Highway 84 to Norris and then Virginia City is a good one, have you been there?

Highway 191 through Gallatin Canyon and then up to Big Sky is also great.

No worries, reading about it was good enough. Can't wait to get mine buttoned up and go for my first drive of the season.

Yes, my wife and I have toured in the area for many years.

Here are a couple of trip reports I posted earlier. There may be some sections of interest to you:

I haven't been on 84 or 191 and have those marked now - thank you! I confess that, even all these years after the Nichols boys were running amok in there, I'm still a bit fearful of going into the Madison Range area.

You know your Montana history too. Madison Range is safe now, I can vouch for it.

Just read your trip reports, wonderful! Thanks for sharing.

I've driven most of those roads but not all in a 911. A few of them were new to me.

Beartooth highway is one of my favorites, it just never gets old. I am wishing for turbos by the top though.
