Question H&R/HD Bilsteins versus PSS 9's-Bottom Line

I have read the archives at length and I am having a great deal of trouble deciding on what to put on my 45K 1996 993 Twin Turbo. I hate to spend the extra $1000 in parts if I do not need to, yet it is a lot to spend and be sorry later.

The situation is that I will do one DE a year normally, and I am not likely to be in an aggressive run group. I would like to lower the car a little for appearance, but I am concerned about the high curbing and steep mountain roads I have to deal with. I am also interested in a comfortable ride for my wife and I when we take a long highway trip.

Bottom line, do I need the flexibility of the PSS 9's to accomplish the above, or will a H&R/HD Bilstein combination accomplish the same thing for $1000 less?
Any thoughts?

It sounds like the H&R/Bilstein HD's will suit your needs. Save the $1K.

I went throught the very same dilemma and ultimatley went with row m030 springs and bilstein HD's. Like you i may do an occassional event and want every day comfort with performance and looks. I saved the grand and am completely happy.

Sounds like you already made up your mind to go with the HD's. So go with those and be happy.

I agree with EThec, get the ROW Turbo springs with the Bilstein HD shocks. Those springs are much better than the H&R's. H&R's are too soft, especially for the Turbo.

Go with Viken and Ethec's rec... You may also want to consider a 21mm ROW turbo rear sway bar.
