Would 996tt/GT3 sport seats fit a 993tt? Any modifications to the seat rails needed? Direct bolt-in?

they do.. do a search on the 993 board as there was finally a solution that worked and it was posted about 8 months ago. i really think these seats are overrated and dont hold you at all.

Do a search... from memory you need to reverse the sliders.

With factory 996 brackets and sliders you'll sit about 1.5" higher than with your 993 seats; to lower yourself back to roughly where you were before you'll need to use Brey Krause brackets and Sparco or Recaro sliders.

Phelix is spot on about the brackets and sliders. I really like the GT3 seats BTW, until I saw the Kirkey ones for track use .

are you talking about the 1 piece gt3 seats (which i do like), or the 2 piece gt3 'sport seats' that everyone wants to sell?

TURN the side brackets around 180 degrees and the seats will sit lower!

996 and factory 993 brackets are identical but rotated 180 degrees to accomodate the different floor angles. Make sure you drill extra holes in the runners to use 8 bolts in each seat. The brackets are also sided - inner and outer offset.

I have 996 Sport seats coming next week. Anyone have detailed pictures of the reversal and where to drill holes? Or will it be obvious?

I love my GT3 seats. They hold me much better than the sports seats that came with the car. Gert was able to get my GT3 seats in chestnut brown leather with the Porsche crests, but it took about a year.
