Paolo.

I seem to have missed getting you in the registry. Can you add the usual one-line details, but please include a word on this recent concours victiory!
Hi Steve,

I think I was in some times ago; probably I went lost in some copy&paste

Neither speedo can keep up. They seem to be 10 mph behind, that is, you think you are leveling off after reaching 60 and you are at 70, 80 you are at 95.

My wife, the one that works major cases in the insurance industry, just closes her eyes and says she waits for the airbags to deploy; my oldest daughter has stomach issues with straight line acceleration and asked what it was forcing her into the side bolsters when I turned; my youngest daughter can't stop smiling . . .

The folks at the Ruf center say that these cars do about 420-30 HP at the wheels so I figure with 15% drive train loss there's at least 470 HP at the crank. This is about what Ruf Center observes even tho the rating is 435-455 HP.

As the donor car is a Carrera 4S it handles wonderfully with no wheel spin on stop launches. Previously drove for 10 years a 1984 Targa Euro which was a thinly disguised race car for the street. It was easy to find the same Porsche-ness in this one, same great turn-in and road feel, except now there is some control over the damping with PASM.

As you can imagine I need to get to the track to truly test it at it's limits. In the spring I will hopefully be able to get 'er out to a Maverick Region DE at Motor Sports Ranch.

thx,i don't know, maybe feb as the car has been back with Ruf for the last month for a lot of mods which already makes it a different car to the ctr3 i have been driving,in any case even up till now the car is really something else to anything pre-ctr3 in the way of explosive power, amazing handling and super brakes. Not the most comfortable and easy car to drive though...

Singe,

Great car. What is a Ruf R Kompressor? Is that different than a 993 BTR? How many turbo-chargers are in your car? When and where was the conversion work done?

Thanks for the education and enjoy in great health. It is an awesome machine.

How many turbochargers? No one! The name is R Kompressor!

So there is working a supercharger in the car!

That is a complete different engine to the 993 mono-turbos from Ruf!

Greetings Christian

As CP says, there are no turbos in an R Kompressor - Kompressor being German for 'supercharger'. Conversion was done at the Ruf Auto Centre in Dallas, Texas at about 2500 miles by first owner. I am third. Donor car is a 2006 C4S Cabriolet. Good thing about the four wheel drive as commented by the Ruf guys - about the same as a Turbo in HP just a different curve. You can get more info here:

I should add mine to the list -- 94 RS America RCT conversion, originally owned by Dr. Robert White.
