993 Turbo 'S' 1 of 11 only 460bhp factory cars ?
Any help or information would be very much appreciated. I was offered today a 993 Turbo 'S', apparently one of eleven only factory produced special cars with 460 bhp. 20,000 km's from new. Is this truth or BS.
your help and advice is very much appreciated,

460 bhp is news to me. It suggests a European car of course (as does "Km's.")
Don't be in a hurry to believe folks calling BS. The factory or a local authorized dealer can verify everything about a car based on its VIN.
Just look at a recent mag talking about 993 turbo cabs -- I would have said "never happened" but sure enough, just as WW was getting into the hot seat, the factory built a handful of cars with 993 narrow body cabs and 964 3.6 turbo engines.

Well I guess I am as big a 993tt anorak as most and in the 100s of articles I have read since '95 I have never heard of a ttS with a special 460hp factory motor. Maybe they just got 450PS (like on yours stock) mixed up a bit ? Most "normal" people do frequently get the numbers wrong
The closest factory engine to this is the 465PS which they did in '96 with the then new M64/83 EVO cams and running TAG management and 34.2mm restrictors....This is a strictly race car tho' nothing to do with the ttS.
If they insist on the 460hp try asking for an engine code, I have all the variations to hand, failing that ask them what special components the car has over the 450PS ttS ?

Greg H. Excellent. I've had amp ever since I can remember that only goes up to 10. I knew one day I could find one wtih a pit more power (and volume). How much for yours? I know it is a bit presumptive of me, but might you be interested in selling? Please advise.

this can be true actually. I personally know one person who owns a silver 98 Turbo S that was delivered new from Weissach with more than 600 hp and a whole lot of modifications. Top speed 365 km/h - at that time one of the fastest. So I can imagine that there are a number of (10?) further cars around, that were upgraded by Porsche on demand.
Btw: I saw that your GT2 is for sale - why?!?

May I ask, does the "more than 600hp" 993tt S have the Secan EVO Porsche Motorsports intercooler ?
If it doesn't then it does NOT have 600+ "Porsche" hp and Porsche being Porsche are(were) always reliable in delivering quoted power.
I also know of a Silver '98 Turbo S with 365kph top speed and 600+hp Secan EVO engine but it was not done by Porsche......
Playing with interiors and bodywork is one (fairly simple) thing for Weissach but selling a customer a TUV road legal (emmissions) tuned engine is another thing and not something they did AFAIK...
Please tell more

It is just on RL tech forum it is good to try and establish real facts otherwise stuff just becomes "urban legend"
Quite often unless people are complete anoraks (like some of us on here) they do not know EXACTLY what they have. For example your friend may have a factory 450PS car which has been further tuned (by someone else) and chassis dynoed at 600hp ?
If he has a Porsche quoted 600PS 993tt then it would have to have a special Secan Motorsport intercooler - this is the only way to support proper Porsche 600PS it will look like this:
The car I know was done by Schmirler, it is a silver ttS with stock wheels and a 650+PS engine with Secan I/C as above. It had a sloped windscreen conversion which apparently due to an accident in Monaco has been repaired back to stock windscreen. Not sure where car lives, somewhere central EU..

I did not take it that way, no problem!
No, the car is a regular Turbo S that was immediately upgraded at Weissach. And it is not the one you mentioned due to the Schmirler fact.
I'll get back soon.
