I know that 993 turbo's performance is comparable to that of 997 S. I have never driven both cars together, but I heard that 993 turbo may be significantly faster in the straight while 997 S will go faster around the corners.
Assuming that both cars will post similar numbers around the same track, in the wet condition, would 993 turbo be faster than 997 S? even 996 GT3 or 997 GT3? was 993 turbo's 4wd system sophisticated enough to make difference in wet conditions? what do you guys think?

IMHO with the right driver 993tt is the King of the models mentioned (except 997 GT3). albeit it doesn't have PSM or traction control so more in the hands of driver.

lots of variables, even if you are qualifying things as both cars being equal in the dry, in the wet, the variables become different again - being able to put the power down (4wd vs 2wd), different weights, braking, difference in top speed in the wet down a straight, may come down to what tires/widths each car is running.

The OP never quatifed if it was either 2wd or 4wd...

I held the class record in POC for 9 years which I set on a wet/damp track and was just eclipsed last year by a GT3 in the dry at Willow Springs. I can tell you a well driven stock 993tt on R tries will do 1:34s. A 997s will be lucky to do 1:37s. I believe M/T also manages a 0-60 time of 3.7 in the turbo. Torque wins the acceleraton.
Jeff Zwarts best time at Pike Peak was in a 993tt, which in his opinion was the far easier to drive than the later models. His GT2 was scariest ride of his life so for putting down the power the all wheel drive will trump 2WD. Porsche has done a great job of using the electronic PSM's to overcome the over steer prone tail happy 911 design.
The hype is surely in favor of the newer model, but really the modular motor has only been a cheap oil leaker that put a smile on the porsche tech's face for guaranteed employment. Let's talk about why it's tough to get a good indepnedant tech. A good porsche dealer tech is making 100k a year at the larger volume dealers. The reason, warrantee work. I'm friends with a tech who left a premier independant becasue they couldn't come close in salary.
My last visit he had 6 warrantee main seal jobs. Anybody rebuild a modular motor? Just be sure to unload it before the warrantee expires.

I am curious, why was your lap record at Willow Springs, your fastest lap on wet/damp track?
I am scratching my head wondering if something special happened on that lap or what?

I'm sure that with the right suspension, alignment, tires, the 993TT will kill most other cars...especially with equal driving in lesser hp cars like the 996 c2 or 997 C2/S. 996GT3 is a pretty hard car to really drive at the limit, and only really good drivers are able to take it to that last 10% plateau in performance.
993TT having 400ish Hp and awd with a shorter wheelbase than the 997 C2/S (325-350ish hp) should be fairly no brainer as well. The breakaway of grip in the 993 is pretty smooth and controllable at our local track, but tires more than anything make the difference. The limit on the 993TT starts lower but is catchable a lot higher up the scale, if that makes sense. But really think about it this way- the 993TT has 400ft/lb of torque. This gap of 100ft/lb or so makes it a much better corner exit/long straightaway track vehicle.
993TT engine is fairly bulletproof assuming you don't totally money shift at 140mph.
the major downsides of driving the turbo on the track- since it's 12 years old, it flexes more (do suspension, sways and a cage and you're set), it's more complicated in terms of parts you can break (differential, front drive system, turbos, etc), and the cabin is a bit tighter for tall passengers.

In time trials, practice occurs on Saturday with offical timing on Sunday. My times were much quicker but it rained just before timed runs and that was the time that was offically recorded. Certainly not my best time but it was the recorded time and held up for a long time. Shortly thereafter I began down the slippery slope of modifcations which took me out of the Stock and Improved Class. Hope this anweres your question.
