Sad but True
Today I sold the 993 GT2 evo. I never got to run a data logger and go on a v max. Or show pictures of the non hydraulic tappets. So I never got to dispel some myths. All I can say is that it produced more bhp and torque than another 911GT that was running more boost on a fairly fresh engine. Or to prove that a Carrera GT nailing it in 3rd 4th and 5th that the 911 GT was still glued to its backside. What a privelaege to own such a Porsche and that I hope that the new owner takes as much care with it. So when things turn around I can buy it back.

On a serious note, don't blame you for selling at the sort of money you got. These cars's have got too expensive for the fun to £ ratio.
What's going to replace it Graeme?

The crazy Euro/Sterling rate was just too tempting I guess, can't blame you...

It was a very tough decision to make but it sort of all fell into place. The weak £ against the euro was one. The fact that it is getting harder to enjoy our toys without going to prison was another. The fact that as the value of your car increases it becomes more difficukt to use. If it became a £20K car tomorrow you would have no hesitation in using and abusing it. I still have access to my other halves 993C2S so I still have an air cooled Pork to enjoy. What will I get next, well I'm unsure. My thoughts are having fun at more sensible speed so an early 911 is more likely to fit the bill.
A track day car like perhaps a very competent 996GT3RS sounds great but a track day is a rather different prospect to racing. I'll stick the money in the bank (that in itself seems dubious) and decide whats next.
p.s. Germany

If I buy anything I think it will be an early car, maybe a 2.7RS rep or a genuine 2.4S. Something along those lines anyway. It won't be a monster bhp/torque car I just cannot trust myself with it. Not because of lack of ability, just too many scameras, police and the potential threat of going to jail. Horsepower is addictive and I just have not got the necessary restraint for road use.
