Has anyone tried this? Apparently with about $50 worth of film and a pattern you can protect the front of your car at a fraction of the $600 I'm being quoted.

If you can apply it without using a razor to trim, go for it. Most film horror stories are cuts in the paint from the trimming.

Good luck. Go watch the pros in action and you will understand why paint protection film it isn't a DIY job for 99% of us.
Jackson Pollock...pfft, with $200 worth of canvas and paint I could do the same

I tried it and it turned out looking like crap. That was the upper section of the bumper where you have large flat areas. I never even went there on the lower sections with all the holes...
I'd get another quote though. Here in Tampa, a 3M clear bra is $300 installed.

not that i don't 'care' about my paint...but i recently had clear sheets put over new windshield/foglights/headlights to try to help prevent pitting...can't even tell it's on.
will be interesting to see how welll it 'works' usual lifetime of new windshield before glitter sets in has been about 3 months
