Default State Farm is steep!!!!

Hey Guys,

Asking you since you own them

Just closed on a very pretty 993TT and it's on it's way

just got off the phone with State Farm and even though it will be used less than 2000 mi/yr they want more than $900/yr

I am over 40 and have a great record. $0.50/mi just for Insurance sounds like too much to me. Car is garage kept in the Burbs

What do some of you think/pay if you don't mind sharing

Yes, pics will come!!!

Give me a break ! :-) Up here in Vancouver, if you pay less than $2000/yr is pretty cheap - my insurance is about a cheap as you can get and I still pay $1800/yr.

I would LOVE to pay JUST $900.

Cheers,

Mike

I moved to the Barrett-Jackson endorsed policy and saved SIGNIFICANTLY. Do a web search to get contact info for a quote.

My State Farm, stated value, collector car insurance on Rufus is a tad under $400.00/year. They would like to see 2500 miles per year or less. And for heavens sake, NEVER EVER compute costs per mile. There is some stuff that is better left in the fog.

well actually it is $886. I know... what did you pay...? What's the big deal? Just don't like being ripped...

this one is VVLM (very very low miles). I got that from the girls and their diamonds. Why not? If they can grade their old chunks of Carbon, I can grade a Porsche.

Have to think about how I can play with this idea some more...

Wut he sed. I went with Hagerty Agreed value policy - $1800/yr which is same as provincial/government insurance, but insured for $85K, vs the $25K govt insur would likely have given me in event of total loss.

BTW - we have to insure every motorcycle we own up here, which really adds up - can't move plate betw bikes like WA state. Bike companies should set up their own insur Co - would sell more units! I digress...

sounds excessive. I've got state farm for my cars and home and just under 700 per year. I'm also 29 so hopefully next year i get a bump down.

No one has provided what their liability limits are and what collision deductibles are.

For me, in NYC, I pay GEICO $1600/yr for 300/300 (included on my umbrella) with $1000 deductible on collision, driven under 2500 miles for pleasure.

My main concern is if some knuckle-head who's under-insured or even worse, not insured, hits me...

Amended: Just checked my policy, I'm actually paying $1350/yr

I was paying 1600 a year for Geico when I kept my car here in NYC (300/300 and $1000 deduct) but it dropped to less than 800 bucks when I shipped the car to my other house in Nashville...miss it cuz I don't get to drive it as much but the roads are better, ethanol free gas and free parking in my own garage.

YMMV.

Mid-west. 2-drivers, clean records, 50+, under 7K per miles. Home and cars, high deductibles ($1000).

1 car, 1 SUV, and a '96TT all for under $800 a year with Erie Ins. '96TT $250.

Also need to compare coverage min. 100/300.

This is really pissing me off. I have agreed value - over $100K incl. sales tax - Hagarty classic with $2.5K deductable and I'm paying $1,200. That's the best deal around up here. Non-classic runs over $2.4K!

State Farm for many years. 3 cars insured with them, plus house, 4 Univ. Life policies, Umbrella, and Personal Articles (watches and jewelry) 48 y.o. with a very clean record. Full coverage, $500 deduct. 7,500 mile per year cap. No work or school transp.

Turbo is $326/6 months
Boxster is $303/ 6 months

I run off most of the coverage during with hibernation.

State Farm has a program called Drive Safe and Save. You can report actual miles every 6 months to get significant discount on low mileage cars. You can signup on this with your agent or at their web site. It's even cheaper than their 7,500 mile/year rating.
