questions about K16/16g turbos
Hello to everybody
i'm a quite new TT owner after several years of 993 N/A ownership. Alltough i'm very happy and statisfied with the performance of the TT i like to daydreaming about performance upgrade in the (near) future.
I spent many hours to read threads on 993TT forum about turbo chargers, power increase, etc and from the tons of information i figured out, that a K16/16g upgrade would be the best for my personal choise and preference. These are:
- 99% street use
- driveability, fast turbo response
- keep the durability and realibility of the stock engine (only light turbo boost increase)
- don't wan to spend ten thousands of $$$
My car is already equiped with factory TurboS secondary oil cooler, so hopefully ready for the increased thermical load.
so after this long introducion here are my questions i could not find answer:
1. what power is to expect regarding my preference?
2. how much does a pair of 16/16g turbo costs with and without core exchange costs?
3. is there any "plug-in" ECU kit or live remap?
4. what additional parts are suggested to replace for power and durability? i mean turbo hoses, bypass ventil, fuel injection, etc
thanks for the helpfull answers in advance! and here's a picture of my stonegrey TT baby with her ferrari yellow 4S sister:

Give protomotive a call and ask what the all in price is. He'll probably tell you to sent your turbos directly to Blouche for the 16g conversions (probably $600-$800 ish) and he will provide the tune and boost controlller. Install is simple and the the results are great! Stick with factory or bosch 710N diverter valves

as i searched on RL for tuning infos i have also found this company in several threads. If i were living in the USA, i have already contacted with them but i'm from Hungary / Europe which makes my plan more difficult . As i know, promotive optimize every car with live remap but the physical distance makes it nearly impossible. I should find a similar company in Europe who can make the dyno optimalization but it's quite hard becouse most of them stopped at K24 technology. Or promotive offers a pre-modded ECU ?

If your car is a 1997 model it will be easy. Todd supplies customers around the world on a daily basis. Russia, middle east, you name it. He does it. Worst case scenario is you have to pull your ecu out and send it to good old Arkansas.

Definitely give both Todd at Protomotive and Kevin at UMW a call. They both have robust solutions...work with whomever you feel most comfortable.
I've been very happy with the 16/16g solution in my car.

I'm also very happy with the 16/16G conversion. Actually I have yet to hear of anyone who wasn't happy with it. Maybe they exist but I have yet to see it.
