Default Fabspeed performance package... any good?

Anyone here installed this Fabspeed package?

"933 Turbo Performance Package with Modular X-Pipe"

I've seen lots of threads with bits and pieces on but I have not been able to locate a thread with this package in its entirety?

Any links to threads or feedback on this package??? Thinking hard about adding this to my '96 993tt.....

thanks,

Jax

It's a bit pricey. I think it's come a long way in quality since its first iteration. But I have no love for the air box. PM me for a superior air box solution.

Fabspeed make stuff that is um.... less than stellar.

There are better options.

1 - The headers that are stock flow very very well.
2 - The BEST mufflers are Fister muffler ( I have tried 6 different versions)
3 - DO NOT believe their horsepower gains - they have a habit of embellishment.

PM Darin from FD Motorsports - and chat with them. They will work it out for you.

Best,

Simon.

Wot he said... I installed Fabspeed mufflers but resonance was hateful. They took care of it and exchanged for bypasses, which I like , but some find too loud. Bypasses are a very inexpensive way to go. Fister is great to deal with, regardless of product (they are enthusiasts who really understand customer service) and their mufflers sound good.

Cheers,
Mark

There is commonality in the replies and PM's that I have rec'd... I will continue to look at other options as well as including Darin at FD Motorsports... very much appreciate the heads up!

I switched out Fabspeed muffler (only) bypasses for AWE muffler/cat bypasses
http://www.awe-tuning.com/awe-993tttestp

Went from stupid loud to insanely loud
Said to be based on the Porsche Motorsports design

FVD sells similar

The NA and TTs are different. If I had to a number to it, I would say the Fister Turbos would be like a Fister 1.5. The turbos really quite things down esp in cabin.

Fister 2s gets louder and then Fister 3s get a bit more louder with a much deeper almost race car like tone.

Hey Jax, thanks for the interest in Fabspeed products and you are in the right direct for performance mods for your vehicle. We offer many different options for sound and power, so you can really fine tune the setup that you want. The factory Headers do work well but if you are looking for every bit of power or have larger Turbo's, the headers are definitely recommended. We incorporate larger primary tubes in the correct location and the proper size merge collector to give the perfect exhaust velocity to increase flow to the Turbo which improves boost response but also doesn't restrict the exhaust speed at higher power levels. This is all developed and tested on our specific Solidworks 3D simulation software, which many manufacturers do not have. So be careful what you read out there about other exhaust manufactures as they may not be able to provide this type of data, and some owners who have not used or tested Fabspeed products, may not know all the details. All of our products are made here in Fort Washington Pennsylvania with the most innovative manufacturing equipment and dedicated staff, which allows us to warranty our products for life.

If you are trying to get the most out of the sound and power without spending too much, just take a look at our 2.50" X Pipe Sport Cats and supercup mufflers. It is a simple bolt on upgrade that makes very noticeable HP and TQ improvement and gives the car a sporty and deep sound. We have 4-5 different sound and power levels with our 993 Turbo products, so make sure to check out our website for more details. I will also provide you special member discounts if your interested. Also, make sure to ask Fabspeed customers what product their using on their cars. One product can be much louder and aggressive, and intended for track use. Compared to another that's quieter and recommend for daily usage. Good luck on your search and let me know if you have any questions at all or PM me for more information on our products.
thanks,

The car in the youtube video sounds sick...I have those same pipes on my car and I don't think mine sounds quite like that...Does anyone know what else has been done to that car? Does it have RS cams? Bigger turbos?

Thanks,

The car in the vid is mine. K24's and some programming. Come march, I'll let you know how it sounds with GT2 Cams, Mechanical lifters, modded K24's new P&C's, pauter rods, and some other goodies...

Dave, are you going twin plug?

What's your recipe for the K24's too?
