Default 993 TT at Sloan?

Anyone know the history of this car or maybe even seen it?

http://sloancars.com/4470/1996-993-t...r-41668-miles/

States and accident that was correctly repaired but what does that mean?

Means that you'll be paying Sloan prices (always way overpriced) for a car that was in an accident.

"Repaired correctly" is verbiage employed by used car salesmen who are interested in selling a car at the highest price while downplaying it's shortcomings

Wow - Repaired in 1996 - A bad repair will show in more than a decade and $74,900 is a steal. Depends on how bad the accident was...

If the car was repaired correctly and assuming not a salvage title and the damage not too extensive I think the price is relatively fair. I mean, I am seeing OK examples with more miles in the mid-$80's so....

Yeah, and the fact that this car IS competitively priced from a dealer known to price cars super high, is what would give me pause.

Not saying the car is a turd, but Sloan always prices his car way above the market. Hmm, why isn't this one? The fact this this one isn't, to me, brings up more red flags than at a Chinese airport.

I've seen cars listed at his place that had accident damage that I don't recall having it listed in the ad. Why does this accident merit disclosure in the advertisement? Was it a major hit? In 1996, maybe a major collision would have been repaired because the car was worth a lot then. Who knows.

Caveat emptor

Something about that wing doesn't look right. Turbo S wings typically don't extend that far out over the hips. Maybe it's just the photo. But are there two varieties of biplane turbo s wings that are OEM Porsche? I don't think so; it looks too big to me.

I've seen the car in person at Sloan's place, it looks perfect, no evidence of any accident and the interior is just as nice. The accident will likely only impact collector status, but if not for CarFax/Autocheck, it would have been sold 10x by now.

If he is not replying it is probably either sold or has so much interest that it will be sold soon.

The place is very real and has the biggest and best assortment of Porsches anywhere. I bought my 993 there. It is really just one guy, though. No real showroom or sales staff. Everything is by appointment.

I looked into this car closely. someone recently did a ppi, needs about $5k-10k in work. Entire car was repainted after the front end accident so it probably was a bad one. This car has been on sale at Sloan for a while, now you know why.

Any idea what the $5k-$10k worth of work would entail?

Also, any idea what he wants for the Blue 993 Turbo RS?

Again, I called without specifying the car I was interested in and sent a few emails as well. So....

if I recall, various oil leaks, suspension damage, rear bumper damage (accident was front bumper), total repaint, tires from 2002.

A solid 993 TT with 45k miles would sell in a second for $74k. if it sounds too good to be true..........
