Default Motorcycle to compliment 993 Turbo

So guys... Anyone here have a bike preference that could advise me with? I'm looking at a few bikes. One being a Ducati 848. The other triumph 675.

Lots of nice things said about the Ducati and the one I'm looking at seems to be a killer deal. From a good friend. 7k for a pearl white 2010 848 with only 2500 miles. He works out on rig site almost all year and doesn't use it so offered to sell it cheap.

I've had all kinds of bikes over the years. I had an MV Agusta F4 but sold it recently due to lack of use (or usefulness), what a piece of $hit. Just be aware that the smaller displacement Ducati's are usually a bit difficult to resell later. Most people want the bigger bikes on the used market.

Just bought one, love it. It fits in well with my 06' Ducati Paul Smart.

OP: 848 is a great bike, I had one set up as my track bike a few years ago. Dependable, sounds great and has decent power. That price sounds like a pretty good deal if she is in good shape.

Cool. Thanks guys. Yes, the 848 is in very good shape. Something inside me still wants to dig into the triumphs and make sure the Ducati is right for me. It's not a whole boatload of cash to have good fun. So that's appealing.

Good news to know the 848 is reliable. I do know it sounds great.

Default If it's to compliment the 993tt...

Why not go a little older like a 996 Duc? This was mine from a couple years ago. To me both the 993tt & the 916/996 are iconic machines. Sure the 996 isn't as fast as the newer Ducs or anything else you listed but they sound near perfection especially with the dry clutch. I wish I still had mine.

Buy whatever bike uses Mobil V-Twin 20W50 so you only have to buy one oil for both.

Wow. Slate, I forgot about the 996 Ducati. Good point. I need to evaluate that. Reminds me of the 955i Daytona too.

Owned several too…most favorite was a 900 monster. Then you'll have 2 air-cooled classics!Plus the simplicity of the earlier monsters IS very owner friendly for wrenching and modding. You can't deny the classic 748 or 996 though…just depends what kinda thump you wanna have…2 valve…or 4 valve

I have a Polar Silver 1997993 TT, and several bikes as well. The Duc 848 sounds like a good deal. Check on maintenance receipts. I have a 2007 1098 which I love, but it isn't the most comfortable all day bike by any stretch of the imagination. I have a 2044 Honda RC 51 Nicky Hayden edition which I also am very fond of. Having said that, I am 51 years old, and in relatively good shape, but my body can't handle the extreme riding positions like it once could. I am starting to like my 2006 Suzuki Hayabusa more and more!

I'm settling on the 848 I believe. I've known the owner for 20 years and he bike since new. Seems everything else I look at of course doesn't have that feeling of security. He's pretty meticulous. Here she is.
