I'm with you on that. Sounds pretty good out of the box.

*3.8l
*Lot of gt3 goodies! brakes, suspension and wheels but with 5 lug!!!! 😃😃
*They say 385hp but will deliver 400+
*2950 pounds
*Wing is to small, doesn't match the rest of the aero.
*GTS gearbox?
*7800 redline is ok.
*$85000 is great!
*Need a cage and buckets.

Why no club sport package in the US for the gt cars?

Lol I had the same thought. GT4 looks AWESOME! OT but I was also thinking about the new focus RS seems pretty impressive. Obviously totally different ends of the spectrum but some exciting cars coming to light this year.

Was faster than a 997 gt3 around the Ring. Nice to know porsche is still making drivers cars with 3 pedals, steel brakes (if you want em) and no silly centerlocks.

And with the way Values are going? Talking about the turbo or the GT4.

I would never trade a depreciating asset for an appreciating asset. Though a lot depends on the condition of the Turbo. But there are too many variables to consider in such a short post and not knowing more about the 993.

Personally I wouldn't think about trading a 993TT for a new GT4.

Oh, then by all means let me crack open this bottle of "Dom"... that fact wasn't that clear in your original post! Alas, by all means bring a GT4 to the party.

This was my original post and no big deal. There are lots of guys on this thread with multiple expensive cars.....and I do love Dom P. with orange juice at breakfast.

A Dom Mimosa - that is an expensive proposition. They sure don't serve that at the Golden Eagle for Brunch at the Hyatt Resort in Tahoe.

Please what ever you do, never ever sell that 993 TT. I can just imagine how much these cars will be going for in 20 - 30 years. I say sell it when your eyes won't let you drive any longer and put it in a trust for any grandchildren's college education.

By the way when was, if ever, you had the Turbo looked over by a reliable Porsche shop. I would just be worried about those Turbos.

My friend bought a 96 TT in 2000 for $40K from someone who's car's Turbos had failed. 15 years on I know of literally thousands of Porsche people who wouldn't think twice on buying that car for $40K. The guy who sold the car didn't have the money to replace the Turbos since his tech stocks tanked. Ah the folly of the Tech IPO Boon. In retrospect, wish I would have spent $5000 on Apple when it was at $9 in the 90's. Apple isn't a Computer Company, they are a Media Delivery Company.

I'm ready to take a beating on this....... but when I get a confirmed allocation for a GT4 my '96 Turbo WILL be up for sale.

Here is my rationale. I have been a Porsche guy since 1973. I'm OCD with my cars. I went about 15 years during my first marriage without any Porsche and then got back in the game with an '84 Carrera for low money. That was my third 911. Ten years ago I traded up to a low mileage pristine 930 Factory slant nose turbo. I found myself never driving the 930 it was just too clean and too rare and my OCD and museum curator mentality took over. So two years ago an opportunity to trade it for a '96 Turbo came up. The '96 is also a beautiful car that looks brand new. It is also a low mileage car. But this time my thought was that I would drive it. It was more modern and more usable. I figured I could control my OCD and live with this car. I had done well each step of the way trading up at seemingly the right time with little extra outlay of discretionary funds. Yes, I would stay with the '96 and settle down.

Well during the last two years all of that changed, I got married and 993 Turbo prices took off. During that time, I also corrected the few minor issues with the car and now it is near perfect. My OCD which had been kept at bay resurfaced with the cars rise in value. I drive it even less than I did my 930 for the same reasons. I well understand that these cars will continue to rise in value over the years, however I now have a unique opportunity. I can sell the '96 and get a GT4, which for me is one of the truly desirable modern Porsches, and I can even get a good chunk of money out of the deal to help jumpstart my new family. It is a compromise that you make when you are married and enter into a partnership but I view it as a win win.

I know that I will drive the GT4 and share the adventure with my wife. We plan on European delivery and while I know that with very tight allocations it may not be this year it will happen soon enough. The Turbo is a great car but the GT4 will be too. I really don't see that I will have any regrets. I wish I could have both but that option just isn't in the cards. So while I could wait and continue to live with a garage queen like I have been for over 10 years it's time to break the cycle and the GT4 is a car I feel very comfortable doing that with.

Flame on boys.....
