The Value of Color
Hello:
What is consensus, maybe there is not one, what effect does rare color have on the value of 993 tt. This would be based on a low mileage 993 tt
For example
20,000 mile same condition
A common color, black or silver, compared to Riviera Blue or any other very rare desirable color?
Thanks

I don't think there is a formula or percentage that can be applied to this question. My gut feeling is that sellers and buyers pay what they think it's worth. There are not a ton of PTS 993TT's that I've seen but I'm sure they're out there.

Riviera Blue 993TT, commonly referred to as "Great White Buffalo"
Pearl White PTS 993TT, let's just call that one "The hope diamond"
This is such a debatable topic. I wish there was a clear cut measurement standard. I would be willing to negotiate up to maybe 20k or so more for the scenario you spoke of on a special option paint. But. There's always someone willing to pay more.

Yup, supply and demand. Must have buyer finds seller w/ color combo, premium.
When I went looking I had 4 color combos that were are equal in my eyes in value. But I did find my favorite, Speed Yellow at the market price in '08.

Three Wheelin'
There are going to be more buyers for black or silver, though there are a lot less "paint to sample" cars which can command more or less than the others. It only takes 1

The rare color if desired like RB or Speed Yellow will obviously command more IMO up to 20% plus. And I'm leaning to say it will the Porsche enthusiast who will pay and appreciate it too. We all know what are the "mecca and holy grail" colors.
New into the market, probably a fair amount of these investors will def look for the safe bet focusing on mileage + standard colors. It's only once you get into the p-car world sometimes perspective changes.

just look at the prebumpers world
color matter a lot for the value there, how much? I don't know
but people are willing to pay way more than for a conservative color
in 10-20 Years miles will care less then color

I also think the premium/discount can change over time. When I bought my SY Twin Turbo, I actually think I paid less because of the color . . . but times and preferences have changed!

I would pay more for a riviera or iris blue TT than I would for a comparable silver or black car. I would pay significantly less for a speed yellow or Barney color. All comes down to personal preference.

colors are worth a premium.
I am looking an Arena Red turbo with 12k miles and a Black turbo with 40k miles.
Both are about the same money and as low as the arena red miles are, i think i rather a black car.
So I would be paying the same money for a car with more miles based on color....
