Talking My First Porsche!

Hello everyone,

I'm excited to introduce that I have joined the Porsche club with a 2001 996 Carrera in Arena Red! Being in my early 20's, it's a car I've always wanted ever since playing Gran Turismo II. I know I bought the "most undesirable" 911, but I love everything about it that everyone else hates. I know my car is far from perfect (Changed motor mounts today with new OEM and feels 10x better) and have alot of suspension/control arms/tie rods work. Trying to get it up to OEM fresh out the factory feel, with your guys expertise and guidance I know it's possible!!. My 911 did have it's IMS/RMS done 3k miles before I purchased as well as: AOS, MAF, Pinon bearing, and other small things. I've been reading a lot of scary things on this forum for the past weeks and just wanted to bring some happiness and positivity! I would love to meet up with anyone in the Southern California area to talk about our 911's. Here are some quick Pic's (sorry for terrible lighting and image quality) I took tonight i "Life's too short to be driving boring cars "

Welcome to the club. We’re the fun kids to hang with.

Forget that “undesirable” BS. We have kick *** cars that are easy to work on and a blast to drive. Congrats!

Excellent! These are fantastic cars. Sold my 996 to a friend, and now he is loving it. And he moved "down" to the 996 from a GT4.

Interesting aero kit you have. Unique color, I don't see it too often.

Congrats on your great looking car! I love that color. And your screen name is hilarious. If Oprah's poor cankles could talk, they'd undoubtedly cry themselves to sleep each night. Best of luck with your new ride.

Congratulations! Jealous!

* just curious why its considered " undesirable" ? IMS issue? or some other reason?

Congrats on your new to you 996. Considered undesirable because it's the red headed stepchild, the first water-cooled 911 with ugly headlights according to the haters, and crappy interiors.

Congrats on the car and owning a 911 early in life - many of us are much older and just now enjoying such.

Looks great and enjoy it every day!
