This thing has been up for months. Screaming deal...except for that ticking from the valve out of adjustment. So glad that no one has taken the bait. I wish I had a way to warn off buyers. You can't tell me this guy doesn't know what he has.

In case the link is dead:
2002 Porsche carerra 911 125k fully loaded convertible top works good new battery A/C works it has a tick in motor needs lifter or valve adjustment it smokes when driving $9,500

He knows exactly what he has. That "lifter" issue is likely a blown engine. Bore scoring, yo!

What happens if you keep driving a bore scored engine? Is it 100% fatal in short order or could it just as easily drive for another 20k miles? (I hope to never hear that tick tick).

Thanks

There are people, I think here, have driven their scored engines for large amounts of time and miles while continuously adding oil. From the looks of my #6 cylinder not sure how much longer it would have gone. 808 is right Jake talks about it in his video series.

Hey, does that saying work if I substitute "date" for "911" ?

It's so hard to look at those and know what it costs to rework the engines properly.

I would love to try that product called Engine Restore on a car like this. See if it does anything.

At least he's honest that it has a noise. He could just have told a newbie buyer that's what all 911s sound like. Not many good options when your engine is damaged.
