Just for the record, there's no difference in outward appearance between the Stage 1 Street Performer and the Stage II Track Performer engines - it really all internals, coatings, balancing/blueprinting etc... Outwardly, they all look stock (unless you do an IPD Plenum or something like that)

I was told the Stage 2 Performer requires a 997 intake box and either the Fister mod or the optional Porsche sport exhaust or an aftermarket freer flowing exhaust. Therefore, no longer stock appearing.

I would say Fister mod or OEM Porsche parts are about as stock as you can get for having to upgrade.

Is this a no-reserve auction?

Yea, looks like someone paid $35,000 for the Flat 6 Innovations/Jake Raby engine and got the 997 as a bonus.

Should've gone for closer to $40K!

Awesome deal for the buyer.

Firstly, I'm not sure who told you that, but they're wrong... Secondly, those two options are basically "stock looking" - you wouldn't even notice them unless you knew what you were looking for... These are basically "sleeper" motors (unless you decide to slap some bling on there) - you wouldn't know they're not stock til you get your foot into it a little...
