Default FS 2005 Raby 3.8L

Wanted to cross reference this from the 997 forum.

Just sharing that my 997.1 is for sale on BAT. I'm moving to the Bahamas and the logistics of relocating it is daunting. Plus I've owned property there for 20 years and know you really cannot drive much faster than 30 mph. That car deserves better! Here is the link https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...11-carrera-41/

Wow. Super nice. If I was in the market for a new one, yours would be at the top of my list.

Super sweet ride, if I didn't already have my '99 in for a Stage II build, I'd be looking HAAARRRRRDDD at selling it to make room for this one. Quick Q - why did you go with a stage I vs II?

^^^ I can't speak directly to the OP, but it's about $2k less expensive. For someone who's only looking for dependability, this could be a real factor. I know in my case (as in most I think) the extra kick in performance, was well worth the extra $, without question...

I'm old(69), do not plan on tracking or pylon racing my car and it is a 2005 C4S so I chose the Stage 1 to keep it "stock appearing". Besides Jake told me the increase in performance WILL be noticeable, which is good enough for me!

Thanks for all of the kind remarks! When I did my contract in late 2015 the stage II added mostly the durability for track use. Or at least that was how I understood it and I did not nor have I tracked this car. Stage I seemed to provided what I needed which was longevity.

^^^ exactly right! I've never tracked or auto-crossed my car (even before I had it re-built). This being said, I thought if I decided to, I'd be more comfortable by going for the extra $2k. Who can pass up the lure of MORE POWER!? Not me... There's nothing that says you "Have To" track it if you get the Stage II Track Performer... I probably will though
