thanks -the lighter engine is an ls6 .It's about 60 #'s lighter and weight is slightly higher and forward from the flat 6 .Rear is up about 1 inch .Thought about lowering springs but would like some adjustability .One more question -at the spring perch will the 2 inch sleeve id .slide over it ?Need the sleeve to extend past the groove .The top of the shock body is the sleeve stop .

Ok - with the perch off -will a 2 inch id sleeve slide over the the shock body past the old perch position . .I am assuming there is a groove in the shock body and a retaining clip and that the shock body od is constant from top to bottom .The objective is to lower the spring perch with a slip on 7 inch coil sleeve .

OK - that should work, if the stop is at the top. If the lower clip is not removable, you could probably machine it off. If I get a chance, I'll look at one of the shocks I took off, keeping that thought in mind.

I was able to confirm the perch can be easily worked off the shock. The clip can be removed without much bother, as well. You should be good to go with your plan. The fact that the (collar) stop is at the top of the shock is critical.

Tarrett is doing the suspension parts.
Not a lot of info, but definitely a possible source of parts.
