Default Why is this not sold? Car with RND engine

Is it just me or is it nuts that this car is not sold yet, https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1183102/page1

I would think the value is at least to 25k?

Without the RND engine the car might go for 15k? Given that the RND engine is almost $20k it's a pretty good deal?

People pay a premium for small things like IMS Solution.... This should be a mega premium.

(I don't know the owner at all and never seen the car)

Although, I wonder if you could buy it for the motor and part the rest ?
Wonder what the real world economics would be

I'd say at $16,500 it's a great deal either way...

Gotta hurt to invest $18k on a new engine and then sell it at a loss 12k miles later.

Yes. I often think that I will shell out for an engine rebuild because this is my "forever" car, but then I wonder how long forever is given the curves life can throw at you.

What are differences between RND and FSI builds other than FSI increasing size? Built to same tolerances? Same parts?

Thanks

I think a lot of the parts and some of the methodology is similar but different people assemble it. But a performance FSI is obviously very different

Nothing is the same.

The RND engines are a stock replacement, and are not a product of Flat 6. I developed the original engine program for RND when the engines were to be sold by SSF Auto Parts, that was 7 years ago.

Outside of a handful of OEM parts that are used, like timing chain rails, no components are shared between the two. They are not to be compared in any way. The RND engines have never been built by Flat 6 Innovations.
