Watched this earlier today as I follow him and find his content entertaining and interesting. Looks like his new purchase for $6k looks promisingly healthy. I will say I wish I had his money.

I’m with you, this will be a fun one to watch but I’m biased.

His first 996 had 248k miles. He killed the M96 on the track. He LS swapped the dead M96, and then he killed the LS on the track. That particular LS (an LS1, if I recall correctly) can have oil starvation issues on the track. He sold it to another YouTuber.

Recently, he had a 996 Turbo. He had one if the metal coolant lines disconnect from the housing on the track. A known issue. Fortunately didn't kill the engine. He seemed to really like the turbo.

I was surprised to hear in this latest video that he had recently sold the turbo as I remembered in one of his segments he expressed how much he loved the car. Hope to see good things with this new find.

I will check this out. My main gripe with Hoovie is the fact that he doesn’t work on his own cars. I think his channel would be a lot cooler if he did. The guy that works on his cars has the personality of a toaster

Agreed. His segments are short so not a lot of time to invest so I don’t mind. Maybe he will get this latest find scheduled for a F6I rebuild at some point while owning it...wishful thinking huh?

Watched it as well, and look forward to seeing what issues pop up in his car.

Him saying he bought a 996 Conv with a manual for 6 k is going to hurt others and he Never found out some important things like Mechanical condition of engine, and anything else It may need another 10 k easy. Guy is a hump, but I like my veteran friend the wizard.

No way Jake would take him on as a customer. Way too much drama and risk. I've never watched this guy's videos but knowing that these guys make their money off click bait videos and manufactured drama there would be absolutely zero upside for anyone who has a successful product and large customer base to participate in any form.

I couldn't agree more with your above.

Hurt how so? Hurt the value of these cars? Doubtful, the same way Magnus buying one hasn't caused them to become any more desirable. This is his whole formula, the mechanical condition is semi irrelevant as long as it runs and drives.

There is no financial incentive for either party here. Having a car sent out and waiting a year makes Hoovie no money and if Jake is already booked out a year there is no incentive because he's already booked.

People get so salty about Hoovie when he pops up. It is really stranger when there are legitimately toxic, predatory channels out there.

Hoovie is a tool - plain and simple. To me there is nothing either real or entertaining about what he does. It's all contrived bs (like much of today's "media/content"). Clearly he's succesful at what he's doing, so I'll give him that - I just refuse to watch his mindless drivel.

If you're a fan that's great. We all have different tastes.

My point is simply from a business POV. Why would Jake (or anyone with a respected name) sell this guy an engine or other product knowing his history of deliberately blowing **** up for the clicks?

Can't you see it now? The title would read..."My new $25,000 FSI engine blew up and the vendor won't stand behind it! Why a 996 is the worst car in the world!

And, like moths to flame, some on here would click the link

Simple solution. Have him sign a NDA that no portion of the car or the work performed can ever be discussed in you tube nor any other internet platform. If he does, the lawsuits will begin.
I learned that from our president!
Of course, I don’t think Hoovie would ever agree to it.
