Tire Size
Replacing the tires and was going to continue with Sumitomo which I currently have on as they’re ok for a daily non track driver. They are back ordered and looks like I’ll be going with a different tire. However when I try to go to change brands, it doesn’t look like I can get the exact stock tire size. I run a Rear 285/30 ZR 18. The 285/35 or 290/30s are available. Can these be substituted? I’m ok if only a slight speedo change occurs. Thanks.

I run 285/35 with a 15MM rear spacer. I think it looks better than stock and it allowed me to get PS4S on which was a win.

Do I need a spacer for the PS4s?

Shouldn’t.
Will just sit further inward, plenty of clearance inboard.
I would for the look but that’s me.

Thanks that is one of the tires I’m considering.

I came from Sumi’s... the switch to the PS4S was dramatic.
Granted, I’m running Öhlins and the Sumi were just not matched to such a nice setup but man I was happy 1st ride with the Michelin’s.

Im running MPSS 295/35/18 R & 245/40/18 F with no spacers but Apex wheels. This is also a wide body application.
I much prefer the look and feel of there 35s in back. The MPS4S was not available in the sizes I was looking for.

I must say, I like the look of the 285/35....never considered before. I run 295/30s on both my C2 with GT3 wheels and also on my son's C4S. That look is perfect for me. In both cases the wheels are 11"....I believe 10" is stock for C2..
Also, I would never screw with wheel/tires sizes other than stock because of AWD. On C2s the only reason I would not go to 285/35 because I always worry the larger diameter will hurt acceleration.

I can't help with the sizing, but I just changed out my old Sumis for the replacement version HTR Z5's and am loving them. Not sure which ones you are looking at. World of difference than the III's, quiet and grab quite nicely.

It wasn’t mentioned (or I missed it) if the car is a C4 or C2. C4’s are more sensitive to tire size due to the linkage to the front wheels. I’m presently running 295/30-18 on my C2 on stock 10” rim. Works fine, no rubbing or issues. I think 285s are a better fitment for the 10” rim though. Also consider 275/35-18s too. I’ve run those and had great success. Remember the earlier year 996s were spec’d with 265/40s.

This is the issue + it raises the rear, tried it once, didn't like it.
