interior updates for my 996
So my interior is a little too Gray. I have seen it look good on some cars but trying to go a little darker, more sports car.

What parts are soft touch? Center console and trim surrounding HVAC? What about the pillar covers?

My car is Graphite Gray inside.
I have the carbon package. It adds enough black contrast that it's not a "sea of gray". The instrument surround and the center stack are black as well as the horizontal trim strip across the lower dash. And I have a carbon steering wheel, shift ****, and brake handle that are part black too.
I am going to paint the center console the car's color Midnight Blue as soon as I have a chance. I dislike the soft-touch paint there as it gets carved up too easily.

Beggars can't be choosers.
Just glad it materialized after a total leap of faith purchase.

First thing is black mats, the rest is "Sea of Gray". It can look good for someone more refined than myself but I'm old, (school) and looking for more sports car focus. (See exterior above.)

Lucky you. No carbon here. This is about as gray as they come. Again, not necessarily bad for a proper gentleman but this here is a scrappy kind of 996 at this point. And I mean that in a good way.

My car was also a sea of (graphite) gray when I bought it. I did floor mats, shift **** & gaiter, center console, horseshoe and replaced the 4 spoke gray steering wheel with a 3 spoke black sport wheel.
I got a mat that covers the rear seat backs when they’re down. I wish I hadn’t picked red for the lettering though because there is nothing else red anywhere on the car so it looks a little out of place.

My Turbo has a Savanna interior and I had the same complaint. It was all Savanna. I swapped out the carpet for black and it made a huge difference. If you keep you eyes peeled in the marketplace and on Ebay, you can get everything you need for well under $1000. I stumbled onto a few really good deals and I think it only ended up costing around $500 to do mine.

I got it from German Ebay. They've gone up in price by a few bucks and shipping is a little more then when I purchased in 2017. If you check out his store, he has some different styles too.

Randy, is that crested center console lid custom? Just curious where you got the stamp to emboss
