Based on responses and other reading that there is no rubbing, etc with taller tires I may go to 225/45 front and this will make front and back diameter 26". Still, I kinda prefer the shorter sidewall on the front for the handling.
What did you end up doing? I'm looking at the same dilemma in wanting to run PS4s but they're only available in 285/35 as near as I can tell. Less worried about rubbing than I am the traction control losing it's mind.

On my C2 with PSM, no issues street or track with 285/35 and any weird TC/PSM intervention.

Plenty of vids in my sig of how it worked for me.

I ended up sticking with 225/40/18 (8" rim) on the front and 275/35/18 (10" rim) for the rear. We mounted the 235's but they rubbed quite a bit. I think the Mk1's fender liner is more likely to rub than Mk2's, regardless, for my driving I'm not trying to get every cm of width so I just stuck with stock. Not going up to the 235 I dropped to the 275's in the rear and this matched the front/rear diameters to within 2/10s inch. Also, the speedo now reads only 1mph over at 70 whereas before with my 285/30's it was 4mph over. The ride is great but I replaced 13 year old Sumi's so anything would be an improvement.

For anyone else interested in the tires, they are the Michelin All Season 4S and, after 2k miles, so far so good. Of course you wouldn't want to get near the track with them but for the back roads and coastal cruising they are fine and should last. They came stock on the base Corvette so that's gotta be good, right?

This is good to see. Looks like you're running Apex SM-10 wheels with an 11" rear rim? That's the size I'm considering in future for additional side wall. Any side shots?

I've been running the same for a month now with Feal coilovers (at the max height) and 15mm spacers all around. Haven't noticed any rubbing.

I'm liking this fitment a lot! Thanks for sharing. Same wheels here just different offset in rear for narrow body but 295/35 looks perfect IMHO on there.

We also have a C2 with none of that electronic junk and will experiment to see if we can use spacers by temporarily placing different thickness washers behind wheels to check for rubbing issues.
Hi, I just ordered the same tire combo you just mentioned; can you tell me what you mean by the 'rear is slightly shorter?' I'll change the order if it's not going to look right.
fronts 235/40/18 18x8.5 53mm offset
rears 295/30/18 18x11 63mm offset
I have a 2001 C2 cab

295/30/18 will fit with enough negative camber...even with 11" 45ET wheels:

Even 315/30/18 tires will fit:

Up front, you can fit up to 275/35/18 tires, although I don't have a pic handy. Here, the car has 265/35/18 r-comps (which are about as wide or wider than non r-comp tires):

Tell me more about this 275/35 front! I was always under the impression a 255/35 was about all you were getting under the front of a 996. Is that Fiske a 9" or 9.5"?

Z, do you know what color your old wheels were painted? This is the perfect "bronze-y" color IMO...
