Default 10 Years of ownership - Still a happy owner

Well,
This past week my '99 996 turned 10 years under my care and use...
You can read about when I first bought the car 10 years ago here: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...old-996-a.html
Then I posted on the 5 years of ownership here: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...999-996-a.html
And I am glad to inform that I am as happy as the first day.
A few more things have been done in the last 5 years:
- New convertible top
- New battery
- New Heater Core
- New Coolant
- New Water Pump
- Repaired foam (the one that flies out of the vents...I reached out when replacing heater core and "re-foamed" the flaps)
- New set of tires
- I may be missing a few miscellaneous things, however, a search by my user name should bring them up, I usually post when I need to use the wrench (except to change oil...)
That's about it folks....
Still running on the original IMS, RMS and AOS.....and still running with the original smile when I get behind the wheel, just like I did for the first time 10 years ago.
Salud...Cheers.....

Note: No oil drips, no oil consumption...

Congrats!

Puts the lie to the fear that a 996 will just blow up if you sneeze on it. LOL!

Bravo! Well done and a testament to the fact that these cars are survivable. I'm 7 years into ownership of my 99' C2 Cab, got it just the way I want it and, while its not my daily driver, I do enjoy it regularly and still get positive feedback from other drivers.

I just past 6 years in Oct 2020. This is my "forever car". In addition to lots of little things (money, money, money...MONEY!) and tons of sweat/effort, it's got a FSI 3.8l stage II in it. Yeah, I'm not sellin'...

Great to see, Yes, mine is another "Forever-car" too and like dporto I will do the FSI rebuild if necessary... This coming May, I have owned my '00 Cab for 15 yrs. I am so glad I did not sell it 11 yrs ago when I got laid-off for the 1st time from my job, would have been my biggest mistake. Car runs amazing w/o a drop of oil or any sort of other leaks yet (knocking-on-wood); tho currently hibernating thru tough NE winter. Cheers,
