Sprint Booster V1 vs V3
After browsing threads on here and seeing positive reviews for the Sprint Booster I am looking into getting one for my 2003 Tiptronic. I see there are V1 and V3 versions out there. The V1 is a fixed mode whereas the V3 has selectable modes.
Can anyone comment on which is the one to go for? The V1 is $200 while the V3 is $300. Just wondering if having the different modes is worth it. My car doesn't get tracked.

Someone mentioned the ability to turn it off was helpful when in parking lots, etc. No 1st hand experience myself.

I keep mine (V3) set to Sport 9, or completely turned off.
If the V1 is equivalent to a V3 Sport 7-9, then buy it instead and save some $$$ IMHO.

Yeah that's what I'm also trying to figure out: what the fixed mode is equivalent to in the adjustable ones.

What do these do that couldn't be done with a heavier foot?

If you compare the Pelican Parts write up about this mod/how the stock throttle works vs the video there seem to be some inconsistencies
It basically is equivalent to a tune. Several users like it, haven’t seen any posts from people who tried it and removed it.

The video shows "stock" movement of the throttle that doesn't match the Pelican description. Article says the pedal at resting position still equates to throttle body open 6% allowing for idle, video has it closed. Article describes that sensors sense the exact position of the pedal and opens the throttle body accordingly, though not necessarily linearly. Pedal at 50% equates to throttle body open only 27%, but that is the correct amount necessary to allow air into engine at half of maximum capacity. The video implies that 50% pedal depression should open the throttle 50% otherwise you are lagging. The article also says that the device tricks the computer into thinking you stomped on it and reaches full throttle when only depressed 50%. that is clearly at odds with the video which shows linear response from 0-100 depression. I understand the video is just a mock up of a pedal and throttle and not the real thing.
I have no issue with the mod, but i have never felt my 996 has any lag in throttle response. My pedal and the ball of my foot are in unison and the slightest flex of my foot gets exactly what i expect in return.
