Default Headlight Problem - not working when engine on

Hi all both my headlights stopped working (brights and lows) only when the engine is running. If I have the accessory switch on the engine not running they work fine. I'm guessing its either the headlight switch or the ignition switch. Has anyone experienced this?

In case anyone else experiences this it, was the ignition switch. They are not very durable this is the 3rd one I've replaced in 10 years. Last one was in 2018. This time I purchased the $40 Duramax version. Will see if the price premium is worth it.

I had a similar issue and the ignition switch fixed it. Start the car and the headlights wouldn't fire up. Turn the car off and back on and the switch would work. Same issue with my HVAC. Apparently a faulty ignition can cause all sorts of odd issues
