you *do* know that a mezger is NOT 'plug-n-play' in a M96 equipped car, right? it's been done, but without a significant amount of rewiring and work.

Scrolling through some of your posts, you indicated that you have a 996 Turbo. If so, you might want to post there.

It's not going to fail unless you fill it with sand, don't sweat it. If it should ever need a rebuild there are loads of capable shops that can do a rebuild.

FWIW. If you are looking for a rough idea of what a 996 turbo engine may run you from a dismantler, give LA Dismantler and Parts Heaven a call. I am sure there are a few more dismantlers out there that you can locate in the Porsche magazines and websites. They will most likely charge you more than if you source one yourself. But if your curious, calling these shops may give you a quick ballpark.

The is also DC Automotive in Nc.

There is a good turbo motor in the classified for $25k and there was a project turbo car ad floating around for around $17k.

My mezger cost about $40k but was wrapped in a wrecked gt3.

I don't believe Parts Heaven is business any more and LA Dismantlers has a bad reputation from what I recall.

Being that you are just a @RegularGuy I would not attempt to perform this swap. It kinda takes an @richwealthyguy and a @throwmoneyoutwindow guy to tackle this one
